Your Cleaning Priority List

Create a priority list for your cleaner by grouping tasks by type or room, estimating the time needed, and rating each task from 1 to 5 based on importance. It’s simple but a helpful way to guide your cleaner efficiently.

List Time-Consuming Tasks

Start by listing the cleaning and tidying tasks you tackle each week, focusing on the ones that feel the most time-consuming or complicated.

Account for Pets

If you have pets, think about how they might impact your clean – does your cleaner need to handle pet hair or paw prints?

Choose Cleaning Scope

Decide how much of the cleaning you want your cleaner to manage – whether it’s the whole house or just specific rooms or chores.

Estimate Task Time

Add up the estimated time for your most important tasks, and that’s the amount of time you should book for your cleaner.

Organise Access for Your Cleaner

By now, you should have discussed with your cleaner how they will access your home if you can’t be there.

We recommend being present for the first service to meet your cleaner and review your priority list. If you’re unable to be there, you can arrange to leave a key for them.

Leave Out Your Products and Equipment

For regular cleanings, our cleaners use your preferred products and equipment. They may have suggested additional items during your consultation.

Please ensure that all cleaning products and equipment are left out and easily accessible for your cleaner.

Accommodate your furry friends

If you have pets, your cleaner will have discussed necessary arrangements with you.

Depending on your tasks and home setup, this might involve placing your pet outside or in a room that isn’t being cleaned during the service.

Realistic Expectations  

If you’ve made a priority list, you’ll know how long each task takes. This helps set realistic expectations – it’s unlikely your cleaner can do a complete top-to-bottom clean in two hours.

To avoid disappointment, book enough time to cover all your priority tasks.

Feedback to My AbDom  

If you need to adjust your service – whether it’s the duration, schedule, or assigned cleaner – you can request changes through the My AbDom app or contact your Area Manager directly.
 
We also welcome any general feedback. Your input helps us improve and ensure your service meets your expectations.

Feedback to the cleaner  

Your cleaner will need some time to get familiar with your home and your cleaning preferences. During the first few services, take a moment to provide feedback on their work.

Share what you liked, what you didn’t, and how they can enhance the service for you. Your cleaner will appreciate the guidance, and you’ll be pleased with the improvements in their next visit.

Yes, you are welcome to give the cleaner a key or organise a lockbox where you can keep a spare for your cleaner. Many of our clients preferred to leave the cleaner a key and schedule their service during their working hours so they can come home to a clean house. All our cleaners have been vetted and police checked so you can trust them in your homes.  

No, but it is important to arrange a meeting with your cleaner to discuss your needs prior to the service starting. Our cleaners provide the best service when they completely understand your cleaning requirements and how to use your equipment. We find that an initial meeting will help make both you and your cleaner happy. If you are not going to be home during your house cleaning, you will, however, need to arrange access to your home with your cleaner.

We definitely want your pets to be as happy as you are when the cleaner comes to do your cleaning so it is between you and your cleaner to decide on the best option.

No, there is no contract for booking a cleaning service.

 

Cleaners registered with Absolute Domestics are covered by Personal Accident Insurance. This means that they are provided with compensation in the event of injuries or disabilities caused by accidental events. However, we still recommend for our clients to consider a Domestic Workers Compensation Policy. Yes. Every home has the same basic needs like dusting, vacuuming and mopping. But, this doesn’t mean that all jobs are the same. What surfaces need cleaning and what products are to be used on each surface? What are your priorities for the time allocated? How much furniture is there, and how much does it have to be moved to complete a task? What if you don’t want certain heirlooms moved at all?

As you can imagine, it is a real benefit to get the opportunity to meet with your domestic cleaner in person before the job begins.
