Make the most of the extra daylight with our handy summer cleaning checklist
With summer just around the corner, the change in season can bring in its fair share of cleaning challenges. While the heat and humidity are unpleasant, the longer days mean more extra hours allowing you to get more done. This comes in handy if you’re thinking of tackling seasonal cleaning. Here are some of our tidy tips to keep on top of house chores this summer:
Floor Upkeep
During summer, we often find ourselves going inside and out a lot more. Whether coming back from the yard, a pool, or the beach, this extra foot traffic equates to extra dirty floors. This means you’ll have to clean the floor more often. One way you can minimize your cleaning efforts while maintaining a clean home is by purchasing a quality doormat for the front and back door. A high-quality doormat helps prevent any unwanted dust from immediately entering your home. For those with hardwood floors, we also recommend using a dehumidifier. This helps decrease humidity levels by drawing moisture from the air to help maintain your floor shine and decreases the chance of cracks developing.
To The Windows
Summer is really the best season to clean your windows. The warm temperature and sun allow them to quickly dry.
If your windows have screens, we suggest you remove them and give them a wash in the sink or outside with a hose and liquid soap.
For cleaning the actual window glass, allow the summer sun to shine in and use a streak-free glass cleaner for that sparkling, crystal clear look.
Summer Spills And Sprinkles
One can argue that one of the best things about summer is the food. Unfortunately, ice cream, barbeque sauce and summery drinks can make quite the mess.
We recommend keeping a cleaning tool like microfibre cloths nearby with a handy spray bottle to clean up messes quickly.
